Lake of Dreams, Sentosa-Singapore.
I've never been on a holiday for this long since I've started working. So, why not right? Decided to head over to Johor,Kluang then to Singapore for New Years celebration. Spent 3 days in Kluang and another 3 days plus at Spore. Well, time flies man..before I know it, it's year 2012. I really want the world to end =.=
So that I can spent all my money, have fun and stop working. :P but what the heck..this is life.
FML.I am a sucky driver..probably the one who's gonna cause an accident. ugh. And..I have yet to resit for the exam. Seriously..fuck it la. So sick of driving. I love cars, but I honestly hate driving em. If only I was rich..can hire a driver. =.=. ok, dreaming again.
Well, let the pictures do the talking;
In Johor, Kluang, it is all about the food! It's my boyfriends hometown..to be exact, Sri Lalang. It was a village kinda area..Well, something different for a start.. everyone there, young and old rides the motorbike..really peaceful place.. Well , let the pictures do the talking..
Basically, there is nothing much to do at Kluang but to relax and EAT. That place is kinda like a food heaven for me cause I really enjoy eating. I have a thing for street food.. :) and village food.
This, is by far, the best bak kut teh I've ever tasted and tried in my 21 years of life..I do not remember all the names of the shop that I've dine in. But this Kluang bak kut teh tasted so damn different from other bkt's that I've tried. It comes with the yam rice..This is what I call..good food..So I purchased like four packets of the bak kut teh soup-packet for souveniers. The dry one and the soup one both are orgasmic.
The Kluang Otak-otak. It was just okay for me. A little to soft for my liking.. Still prefer the one back here in PJ (Jalan 222, Nasi lemak panas)
The satay at Kluang was different as well. Instead of having dry satay..their satay was cooked with sauce instead...so its very saucy that you don;t even need to dip in the satay kuah..We've tasted the Pork, chicken and beef satay.. All tasted well except the beef..was a lil too chewy. But definitely something different for me!
The amazingly crunchy-fried chicken..seriously..it tasted good..but seriously..the crunchiness was amazing..According to my bf, he said its cause they cooked it with plastic..I was like..WHAT? but maybe thats the reason for its over-crunchiness. He said its very normal using plastic in fried foods..damn it. =.=
One of the famous dry beef noodle at Kluang, Johor... The beef is..OMG..so damn tender and tasty.. the noodles were great..a little zesty and salty, with a squeeze of lime..However...they should not have put nuts in ..kinda spoiled it.
We then randomly walked into a Malay restaurant for tom yam.. OMG..Since being a tom yam lover already... I must admit, I fell in love with the tom yam soup at Kluang. It was clear tom yam soup served with fire underneath it..special man. We also ordered fried rice...perfect combination to the soup.. Honestly, even the tom yam tasted different..but really awesome.. I really want to go back there the second time around. My bf doesn't really enjoy tom yam but he really likes this one. So, that proved a point.
Being a fan of yogurt ice-creams, I just had to try all kinds of yogurt ice-creams when I see one.. This, was also in Johor, Kluang city area. Very freaking cheap. like RM 4. Plus 2 extra toppings. tasted like...ice cream =.= Tutti frutti is still my favourite.
Last but not least, headed over to a restaurant called Botak curry mee..yes..botak. The curry mee was also great..the gravy was thick and tasty. I was impressed with the deco's though..this was just one portion..every corner of the shop decorates itself with alcohol bottles with colourful straws.
On 29th, my boyfriend and I took a bus over to Singapore:
The busy street of Bugis.. Just to get to the other side, we have to line up!
Bugis is kinda like a shoppers paradise man.. It is DIRT CHEAP..for the clothes, accessories and what not.. However, if you plan to get souvenier..not here please..there is somewhere else cheaper, none other than China town, Spore. But for the girls to get clothes and stuff..it is worth it.
Standing on the roof-top at Iluma. Love the scenery from here.
Dining at Aston, Iluma. Also, thanks to his sister!
And yes, I spotted yet another frozen yogurt shop at Iluma. Tasted just like tutti frutti...but still can't beat tutti frutti because this berry lite is a little too thick.
Inside the splendid Marina Bay Sands mall...It's beautiful.
We were also lucky to catch a free water show at Marina Bay
We then met up with Nic Saw!
The spectacular view from Marina. So damn wonderful.
The night scenery in Singapore was great.. really enjoyed sight-seeing.
The fully metal bridge at Marina. One thing about Singapore, it is all about walking! It is best to go with sport shoes. My feet was sore after the walk.
The Singapore flyer. Matt wanted to dine and have a ride in it...UNFORTUNATELY, time played an issue..We didn't have enough time.Everything was so rushy. So, maybe will be back again for this and also USS.
The very next morning, we met at up with Louis, chi and Wen wei, heading over to Sentosa!! This was not the original Merlion though..This was the Merlion walk at Sentosa.
And, as usual, the Universal rotating globe..the very common photography spot where almost every visitor and tourists would get a shot here.
Strolled around the casino...Unfortunately no photographs inside. All I know Louis & Wen wei made a lost at the Marina Bay's Casino. There goes the luck.
Getting geared up for the Luge ride. It was really fun..but the gang sped up all the way =.=
We then headed for the sky luge... We took the 3-times per ride package....which gets a little too much after the 2nd time, lol. It was really sunny though.
And then, to the beach ...
Hunger came upon us, so we went to Vivo City and had a meal at White dog cafe..I don't know why such name. But the food was not bad.
Louis's meal, so damn huge and everything was fried.
Chi's meal..The sauce was awesome.
And my beef straganoff. Was hoping for a bigger portion. But this was fine.
We then went to watch Songs of the Sea. It's like a water show with a minimum amount of fireworks and drama play.
Beautiful water works.
At Orchard Road, ION.
We all then headed to Clarke Quay, to find Jia Wen, who's working at Brusells Sprout. It was a DAMN tiring walk man! haha.
Boys will be boys... Beer in the afternoon...
Wen wei
After our tiring walk, we went over to MOS Burger for dinner..Instead of the usual bun, MOS burger uses rice instead. Delicious! Plus, its very affordable.
Not forgetting, New Year countdown!! We had a loooong walk to Marina Bay, walking with a huge crowd.. sweating and panting , but we got a good spot. Bad thing is, we did not even met up with Choi yi and weng keong for New Years :( Our phones could not even get through.
Cause baby your a firework!!!
The crowd.
Western breakfast in the morning again. Well..no idea why too.
Under the scorching heat of China Town, Singapore... When I mentioned stuff at Bugis was cheap, China Town is wayyyyy cheaper!!! I love it..however, not liking the sun!
And, during the last day, me, my bf and Nic went over to Bugis for steamboat! satisfying much. Most of the restaurants, we have to actually line-up just to dine..THAT...is..badddd..Knowing myself..so damn impatient..but overall...we got lucky :)
Last but not least, I gotta give a big big thank you to my one and only, dearest Matthew Kuan. Brought me everywhere and to places that I want to go, and gave me eat everything that I want to eat. This is also the longest I've seen and spent time with him. 1 week. To us, 1 week means a lot to us, and its a damn long period of time. Most of the time, we only get to see each other 1 day in 1/2 mths, depending..So this trip made it all worthwhile. I would definitely go back there the second time around for shopping! haha. I love shopping at Spore man.
